Manchester City will finish ahead of tournament favorites Paris Saint-Germain after winning a gigantic Group A showdown that left both clubs mathematically in the knockout stage with one game left. PSG took the lead through Kylian Mbappe but goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus undermined the result in favor of the English Premier League defending champions.

A loss for Club Brugge in the other Group A game ensured that both Man City and PSG advanced, but in the round of 16 it will be important to get first place: this means that Man City is a seeded team and against a . will compete in group runner-up and will also play the second leg of the second leg at home, which is seen as an advantage.

But a goal from Mbappe made PSG think they could win a second game against Man City. A cross from Lionel Messi from the left hit the French star and his shot went through the legs of the keeper for the lead. It did not last long. Sterling and Jesus both shot home within 13 minutes, and Man City saw the victory.

61st minute: SUB – After PSG were furious that Man City didn’t put the ball out of play for the injured Ander Herrera, the Sub comes out. Midfielder Danilo is in the game.

55th minute: YELLOW – Rodri gets a yellow but it looked like PSG’s Leandro Paredes swooped down. It was difficult to see contact in the repetition.

54th minute: SUB – Man City doesn’t waste time. Gabriel Jesus stands up for Oleksandr Zinchenko. Bernardo Silva will move to midfield.

50th minute: Goal PSG! Quick combinations of the PSG attackers and a cross from Lionel Messi from the left lead to a wide-open Kylian Mbappe firing between Ederson’s legs towards the goal. With this result PSG moves to the top of the group.

While RB Leipzig defeated Club Bruges 4-0, both teams are sure to make it to the round of 16. It depends on which of the two giants takes first place.

43rd minute: It’s a 3v2 break for PSG and it’s Kylian Mbappe who takes the final shot but he tries the curler in the far corner and it’s missed. It should have been done better.

33rd minute: Man City with three straight glances at the goal! First, a cross from Bernardo Silva in the penalty area on the right is deflected onto goalkeeper Keylor Navas. Moments later, a cross from Joao Cancelo deflects Gündogan, who hits the post. Then another curling shot by Riyad Mahrez is saved to Navas’ corner.

28th minute: Good play by Man City and Marquinhos blocks a Zinchenko first shot in the penalty area. RB Leipzig meanwhile leads 3-0 at Club Bruges. PSG and Man City should advance to the last 16 today.
