Another night, another packed slate of Olympic action in Tokyo.

The A-Team – the American duo April Ross and Alix Klineman – continued their fight for Olympic gold with a 21:19, 21:19 win against Germany in the beach volleyball quarter-finals.

Then the US athletes Brittney Reese and Tara Davis will strive for gold in the women’s long jump final. Later on, if you are looking for a nightcap, you can meet Rai Benjamin as representative of the USA in the men’s 400 meter hurdles final.

Since days and nights pretty much merge at this point, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that Simone Biles is returning to the competition area to compete in the balance beam finals alongside all-around champion Suni Lee on Tuesday morning.

As always, we’ve kept you updated on the games as everything happens:

Felix is back in shape

Allyson Felix, who took part in her fifth and final Olympic appearance, got one step closer to becoming the most victorious athlete of all time and won her 400-meter run in 50.84 seconds. Roneisha McGregor from Jamaica and Lada Vondrová from the Czech Republic tied for second place with 51.14, qualifying for the semifinals, which starts at 6:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

Gold for Gabby Thomas?

Gabby Thomas, 24, grew up admiring Allyson Felix. Now the Harvard graduate, who studies epidemiology, has the chance to become the first American since Felix 2012 to win gold in the 200-meter run.
