The place does the ‘School GameDay’ happen this week? Location, schedule, visitor choice for week 7 on ESPN

College GameDay breaks tradition with its Week 7 goal and returns to Athens, Georgia for the second time in three weeks for a preview of the day’s only undefeated game: No. 11 Kentucky at No. 1 Georgia.

Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Co. will review their fourth game this season with an SEC team and the third with Georgia. It is also the first time in history that the show features the week’s action from Sanford Stadium; “GameDay” made it earlier this season when No. 8 was visiting Arkansas between the hedges.

This wasn’t a matchup that many had expected to go undefeated and ranked ahead of the season. It was possible Georgia could lose to No. 3 Clemson to start the season in Charlotte, NC, and no one could have predicted the Wildcats would start 6-0 for the first time since 1950. The Wildcats offensive, led by quarterback Will Levis, against the Bulldogs is busy. In two previous GameDay matches this year, they limited their opponents to a field goal.

Still, Saturday’s matchup marks a fascinating SEC East matchup that will have a direct impact on the divisional race. Closest team in the table is Tennessee (4-2, 2-1 in the SEC game). The winner of Saturday’s game will take a clear lead in the overall standings, although the Bulldogs are heavily favored; Kentucky has also lost three previous games to them when both teams were scored.

But then no one expected the Wildcats to beat Florida number 10 and LSU in consecutive weeks. With that said, here is everything you need to know when College GameDay makes its way to Athens, Georgia:

  • Location: Athens, Ga.
  • Match: No. 11 Kentucky to No. 1 Georgia
