Thursday Evening Soccer FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS Lineup Suggestions for Week 5 Rams-Seahawks Single Recreation Tournaments
This week’s edition of Thursday Night Football features an appetizing NFC West showdown between the Rams and Seahawks. This game started with over / under lines of up to 54.5 so this matchup is a DFS player’s dream as it promises a lot of goals. That gives us a lot of useful tips for our FanDuel single game line-up.
Before we break down our line-up, here are the most important settings for FanDuel single game competitions: The total score for the “MVP” is multiplied by 1.5, but it doesn’t cost any extra money like the “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown competitions . FanDuel’s standard rating is half point PPR and Four point overtaking TDs, and there are no bonuses for 100/300 yard games like DraftKings.

$ 60,000 budget, at least one player on each team required
MVP (1.5x points) WR Cooper Kupp, Rams ($ 14,000)
Kupp had to hit a speed bump at some point this season, and that happened to him on Sunday. On the plus side, Kupp’s 13 goals marked a season high, and he’s established himself as Matthew Stafford’s first recipient.

FLEX QB Matthew Stafford, Rams ($ 16,000)
Stafford experienced his first dud at his new dig site, so it’s fair to imagine he’s grateful for the quick turnaround. A trip to Lumen Field won’t be easy, but even Vegas sportsbooks opened the game as “pick ’em” so the expectation of Stafford and the Rams is catching up. Russell Wilson also fits into this build if you prefer the Seahawks’ signal caller.

FLEX RB Darrell Henderson Jr., Rams ($ 13,000)
Henderson processed 19 touches (ribs) on his return from a week-long absence and scored a respectable 14.1 FanDuel points. The short week isn’t ideal, but Henderson has been used both on the ground and in the air. He will be targeting a defense for the Seahawks that have been hit by attacks this season.
WEEK 5 FANTASY: Sleeper | Busts | Start them, put them
FLEX WR Van Jefferson, Rams ($ 9,000)
It was a slightly underestimated start to the season for the receiver in the second year as he has established himself as a reliable third target behind Kupp and Robert Woods. He has delivered 15- and 18-point FanDuels and comes from consecutive games with six goals. He probably won’t see much more volume, but he averages 12.6 yards per target and 17.4 yards per catch, so he made the most of his limited options. Jefferson is a bit of a home run swing. So if you’re more into a base hit in the middle, kicker Matt Gay ($ 9,000) should see a healthy dose of action. The Rams averaged 2.2 field goal attempts per game (the fifth most) while the Seahawks allowed 2.5 field goal attempts per competition (third most are equal).
FLEX WR Freddie Swain, Seahawks ($ 6,500)
We know the attention and goals K Metcalf and Tyler Lockett will command, and Swain’s 12 goals are hardly worth a second look. However, the importance of being the third most common passport catcher should not be overlooked in large-scale hunts. With Jalen Ramsey guessing one of the top two receivers in every game, Swain reckons he has a chance to shine.
