The NBA’s preseason season includes seven games on Monday, led by the Philadelphia 76ers, who host the star-studded Brooklyn Nets at 8:00 p.m. ET. Both teams – the two best in the east from the 2020/21 regular season – were perceived very differently before the 2021/22 season.

While the Nets are big favorites to win the title despite growing uncertainty about Kyrie Irving’s availability, the 76ers have taken a few steps back in the face of the drama surrounding Ben Simmons’ denial.

This matchup is the third game for both teams in the preseason. For the last two games, Philadelphia played in a home game against Toronto, while Brooklyn played the Lakers in Los Angeles before traveling back east to house the Bucks.
